Custom Senior Open House & 411 Cards

Here are a couple of examples of some Open House cards and 411 Cards that I have done for Seniors. I have lots of designs to choose from. The 411 cards are like business cards for seniors. They are great because seniors can give them to their friends and they contain lots of info such as their open house date and time...and also their contact info (email, phone numbers, etc). This is a great way for friends to keep in touch!

A little bird watching...

My husband recently made a bird feeder for our backyard. He positioned this one outside the window so we could see the birds up close. So far, only squirrels have managed to get in there and who wants to see a squirrel up close and personal? :) But finally today, I saw a trio of finches at the feeder. They were brave enough to let me capture just a few before flying away.

Little Mr. "R" - 1 Year Old Cutie { Minneapolis Photographer }

Yesterday I had the opportunity to photograph this sweet little boy who just turned 1. He absolutely loved being outdoors and even though the forecast called for rain, this little boy must have gotten his birthday wish--a beautiful day!

He loved exploring and found even the smallest new bud intriguing. I love to see the wonder in small children.

And lastly, big sister joining in the photo...aren't they sweet?!

An Easter Surprise for the "R" Family!

I had a lot of fun photographing this wonderful family. The kids were so cooperative and excited to get their photos taken. Their spirit and smiles were infectious!

Isn't this little angel sweet as can be? I love how she has her little hands clasped.

This little boy is going to be a heartbreaker someday! He is adorable!

And finally, the serious side of Mr. "B". He has the most beautiful eyes!

Wiggleworm!

The kids have ventured into our new backyard and are finding all sorts of treasures. The latest of which is affectionately called "Wormy" by my 7-year-old daughter. I wanted to capture a photo of her holding him since she has been a bit freaked out by bugs and other wiggly creatures. She picked him up only to drop him right away. "He's too wiggly, Mom!" Guess that's where the term "wiggleworm" comes from. :)

I am loving my new view! Check out what I saw today as I glanced out my back door:

I can't remember the last time I saw a Cardinal. This was taken through my door (thus the dramatic post processing) and I must have spooked him and haven't seen him since! He was enjoying the birdseed. I watched him as he sat there and pecked at the seeds and then spit the shells out of is mouth. What manners!

And I snapped the kids' wagon here too. It was all wet from the recent rainfall. Processed it with a new fun program I recently found.

Settling in...

We moved on Sunday and have been unpacking and getting settled in. It's been so nice to have extra room, windows, and privacy.

Here's the moving company we used. Highly recommend them for fast and efficient service. We also got to use as many boxes as needed for free.

We were greeted with fresh flowers and a card from the home owners. I thought that was so nice of them:

Here's some photos from our new living room. I love the hardwood floors!

There's a nice big bay window in the living room as well. Good for looking out and pondering life (lol).

The owners left their gorgeous piano here temporarily and we have had fun playing gently on it. Micah likes to sing and play at the same time. What comes out of his mouth doesn't match what comes from the piano...darn I thought maybe we had a little genius piano player.

And finally, thanks to my little buddy for letting me take pictures of you today. :)

Farewell, Nicholas Way

Two years ago, we relocated and found a small but comfortable townhome on Nicholas Way. We anticipated this home to be a temporary residence for our growing family of four plus dog. We ended up staying longer and soon called this place home sweet home.

We have since outgrown this home and the time has come to move on. Here is a tribute to Nicholas Way. We won't forget the memories (good and bad!).

Changing Seasons

There's nothing like taking a walk and stumbling across something so beautiful you find yourself running home to get your camera. That's exactly what happened to me yesterday. This sunflower's days are numbered as we head towards a cool fall and eventually the cruel, cold winter that comes with living in MN. This sunflower I'm sure had been even more beautiful in its youth. But I still found beauty in this tall sunflower that was slowly losing its petals.

This pine tree reminded me of the cold winter that is yet to come. Are we ever truly prepared for it?

Lastly, this leaf had already changed to red for fall. I thought it was so simple yet pretty hanging there all alone.

My Little Photographer

My 7-year-old daughter has been playing with her pink Fisher Price Camera. If you have one of those for your child, you know the pictures aren't very high quality at all.

So I was uploading her photos to my computer and I was surprised to see how artistic she is!

Sneak Peek of Little Billy

My dog, the ideal model

I have a strange dog. She loves getting her picture taken. In fact, when I'm heading down to my studio with the kids to take their picture, she will often follow us and plop herself down right in the middle of the action. She knows exactly where to sit too.

So tonight I was getting my studio ready for a shoot and I needed a test subject (it's now 1am and the kids are in bed). So who do I call? You guessed it. "Ohh Belle!" She came running down the stairs. I told her to sit down on the rug and she happily complied. I took a few test shots and was done. But she was not. I turned off the lights and headed out and she was still sitting there cute as can be. Maybe she should be a model.

Move over Barney...

My children, ages 3 & 7 should be bopping to Barney and sweetly serenading "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star". But instead I hear them in the backseat of the car singing along with the latest tune on Christian radio. "Turn it up!" screams Madeline (7). "Yeah, turn it up!" echoes Micah (3) who incidentally copies Madeline in just about everything these days. So I turn up the music and they scream "I know this one!"

It's really heartwarming to listen to a 3 year old singing such deep lyrics and a 7 year old asking such meaningful questions. The innocence and hunger they have for the Lord is so amazing and I'm really proud of them.

I thought I'd share their favorite song here. I think they know the lyrics better than me! Imagine a 3 year old toddler singing this as you are watching!

I'll take this over Barney any day. :)
